E is For Easter: The Pagan Origin of Easter
Arlee Bird’s A to Z Challenge just passed 4 days and today is the day for the letter “E”
Again a small change in my earlier decision on my themes for the A to Z.
For the E day I selected the word Easter, a more popular word in the Christendom as well as the whole world.
EASTER: The So Called Resurrection Day Of Lord Jesus Christ is celebrated by millions of Christians around the world yesterday (5th April).
Here is a serious and noteworthy note, I received on my mobile through Whatsapp on the same day. And I think it is appropriate to post it here for the benefit of my fellow Christians to know what exactly this day called ‘Easter’ and its connected activities, I am sure some of my friends get offended by this post, but sad to say that always the truth has its own bitter side. So I took an advance bail if it gets offended by someone who read this:..

In the 1948 Arab Israeli war it became divided into two Israel and the Arab Country of Jordan. Israel held West Jerusalem and Jordan controlled East Jerusalem. Israel won East Jerusalem in the brief Arab-Israeli war of 1967 and combined it with the western zone. West Jerusalem is the modern part of the city. East Jerusalem includes the Old City the place for many ancient monuments of holy places.
Jews consider it a holy city
because it was their political and religious center in Biblical times. Around 1000 B.C. King David made Jerusalem
the capital of the united Israelite tribes, later David’s son Solomon built the
first Temple of the Jews in the city. Christians
consider it holy because Jesus Christ was crucified there, and many events in
his life on earth took place in this city.
Muslims believe that Muhammad, the founder of Islam rose to heaven from
this city. It is their third holiest
city after Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia.

Interestingly this city is also
known as the city of three Sabbaths—Friday (Muslim)
Saturday (Jewish) and
Sunday (Christian).
Saturday (Jewish) and
Sunday (Christian).
As said, though it is a tiny little
land its presence is visible almost every day in newspapers and other visual
media. If one look from the perspective
of the Word of God, one begins to understand the battle that is raging over the
status of Jerusalem, the immigration of Russian Jews, the resettlement of Judea
and Samaria, and the very principle of Israel’s continued existence. From its inception it has been set apart from
other nations. That uniqueness of separation
is still continuing and it’s fighting for its survival in the midst of a
hostile world.
Why its presence is visible every
day in the media? What is it that important to this little nation of over a
five million people, occupying less than the one percentage of the earth’s surface? Why such a nation be a stumbling block in
international affairs, major nations are discussing it seriously in their debates
and decision making? And why is it the
most sought after fiercely contested piece of real estate in the world?
To find out an answer to these
questions one need to go into the pages of Bible and need to set Jerusalem and
Israel apart from the rest of the world.
The Bible says: "The earth is the Lord’s and all its fullness, the world
and those who dwell therein" (Psalm 24:1). However God lays special claim to Israel
in general, calling it “My Land” and Jerusalem in particular, calling it “My
City”
In the eyes of man this city may
not qualify as the biggest, the brightest or the best city in the world. Yes, it lacks many features as the world
count as best or greatest city. Yet it
holds a great splendor and glory that is incomparable to many other cities of
the world.
Yes, its uniqueness stems from
the fact that God has chosen this city to be the capital of His Kingdom. From His Throne in Jerusalem, the Lord Jesus
will rule over the nations, and from the nations people will come up to
Jerusalem to worship the King. The whole
earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord and that glory
will emanate from Messiah’s Throne in Jerusalem!
Of all the cities in the world,
only Jerusalem is referred to as
The Holy City (Isaiah
52:1)
The City of the Great King (Matthew 5:35)
The Throne of the Lord (Jeremiah 3:17)
The Place of God’s Name (2 Chronicles 33:4)
The Object of God’s Love (Psalm 87:1-3)
The Cause of God’s Joy (Isaiah 65: 19)
The Dwelling Place of God (Psalm 135:21)
The Seat of God’s Government (Isaiah 2:3)
A Crown of Glory and a Royal
Diadem (Isaiah 62:3)
The City of Truth (Zechariah 8:3)
In this sense, Jerusalem is the
most ‘elevated city on the face of the earth!
But today it may be a dim
reflection and at worst, a contradiction of its God-given designation. But people of faith can see through the eye
of the Spirit, the restoration of all things that the prophets have
spoken. This process of restoration will
be completed in the day of our Lord’s appearing
Jesus Christ: The Savior of the
World.
But unfortunately for many Jesus
Christ is just a leader of one of the greatest religion in the world.
Yes Christianity or Christian religion
was founded on His life and teachings.
But a majority of Christians believe that He is the Son of God who was
sent by God the Father to earth to save humanity from their sins. Even a good number of non-Christians too
believe that He was a great and wise teacher lived ever. In reality He is the Savior of the world. Those
who believe in Him have everlasting life.
Yes this belief in Jesus Christ has united people from many lands. Christians make up the largest religious
group in the World. Muhammad, the
founder of Islam regarded Jesus Christ as a great prophet and adopted many of
His ideas. Moral standards of equality,
responsibility and care for the weak owe much to Jesus’ lessons in brotherhood
and kindness.
The first four books in the Bible’s
New Testament tell about Jesus Christ and His life. These books are called Gospels (Good News).
You can read these books here at these links:
1. Matthew
2. Mark
3. Luke
Here is a visual treat for those who want to see these Holy places. No need to go to Jerusalem, sit at home and see those lovely places. To watch and read more about this visual effect please click on the below link:

F for “Facebook” Oh No! “F” is for “Faithbook”
Facebook
is one of the famous social networking website.
Here one need to register and can upload photos videos and send messages
to their friends by posting it on the wall as well as one can send private
mails too.
It
was founded by Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates and fellow Harvard
University students Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and
Chris Hughes. The membership was
initially limited by the founders to Harvard students, but was expanded to
other colleges in the Boston area, the Ivy League, and Stanford University. It
gradually added support for students at various other universities before
opening to high school students, and eventually to anyone aged 13 and over.
Facebook now allows any users who declare themselves to be at least 13 years
old to become registered users of the site.
This is now available in 37 different languages.
It
has now many features like kno-it-all, Marketplace, groups, events, pages etc.
These
days many use it mainly to promote their products, services and resources; no
doubt it’s a good media to reach millions of people in a fraction of seconds. A
good number of people join and visit this site to just to pass their time, or
to do some kind of gossips or just to relax after a day’s toil.
OMG!!!
My
title already said that this post on “F” is not on Facebook but on “Faithbook”
But
I am going away from my intended subject.
Let me come to the point. I am
slightly worried to note that few of you may disagree with my points here. Anyways, I need to express what I mean to
express. If you got annoyed it you can coolly
go to the other blog.

Ok
this Faithbook is a different one from the popular facebook. Yes, in its entirety it is different from the
other.
Whether
you accept it or not, Faithbook or The Bible is the greatest of all and it
cannot be denied that it is the most remarkable and precious one, human beings
ever received. Yes, it’s amazing and no
doubts a ‘Unique Book’. Yes it’s written
by the inspiration of God. When one goes
through it he can realize that God himself is talking through it. And you
can communicate with God any time 24/7 through prayer and supplication.
Not
only that you can find any solution for your life’s problems. It’s a guide book towards the journey to heaven. If follow the instructions in scripted in it
you will surely reach the destination safely.
No other books on this earth give such detailed instructions to human
being connected with his life and destiny.
Follow
the instructions and be sure about your life!
But
please do not listen to my words; look into the following facts and check out for yourself.
A)
The Bible is unique in its continuity, and it’s written over a
1,500 year time span by over 40 authors from different walks of life from kings
to peasants at different places at different intervals. It’s unique because the authors of different
experiences dealt with number of controversial subject in full harmony. All the
authors outlined God’s great love towards man.
B)
The Bible has more reads than any other book. It’s still the number one book in sale. And it
was the first major book printed; it is first printed at Gutenberg’s press.
C)
The Bible has been translated and published in more languages
than any other book.
D)
The Bible is the only book which withstood many attacks by its
enemies. Kings and rulers tried to
destroy it from the time of Roman emperors to the present day rulers. Even in spite
of the countless opposition its teachings and truths have been preserved, it is
in itself a miracle.
E)
Modern archaeologists have confirmed and proven the Bible’s
absolute accuracy and proven it to be a source of History.
F)
The Bible is the only book ever produced which contains a good
number of prophecies which is prophesied thousands of years back fulfilled
accurately.
These are some of the amazing facts about the
amazing and unique book, but unfortunately a good number of people who consider
themselves as smart and intelligent just ignore it for their peril.
Jesus Christ Wants to put you in His Book.
Do you Accept. It is up to you to decide.
You need not worry about the 4, 7 10, 14 days or one months
block from the book, or no fear about getting deleted from the
account permanently. No. This registration is a permanent one,
and once registered you are safe in His hand.

Death Is Inevitable, But You Need not Fear….
Many fear even hearing the sound of this word. And
Many do not like to talk about it too. Because it is such a word that, it creates a
kind of fear and commotion among the individuals
In this connection let us go back to the creation story.
When God created man He created them in His image, and there was no
death,. But unfortunately man sinned and
come short of the glory of God and death entered in and it continued to
rule. The Bible the God’s Word says:
“The wages of sin is death.”
And it is appointed for men to die once, but after this
judgment (Heb 9: 27).
Death is
inevitable But You Need not Fear….
Yes, If you are a believer
in Christ and accepted Him as your personal Savior an Lord you need not
fear. It is for sure that you need not fear death.
Yes, a believer’s life in Christ is sure and secure, His
destination is clear and an appointed one.
After the death He will be taken
to Heaven.
The Bible says: "The death of His children is so precious
to Him that it will not be an accident
Yes his death is Precious in the
Sight of God
But contrary to this in the recent past there was a news
emerge into the scenario.
“
The breaking news was this an media put it as The Biggest
Breaking News Ever!” IN 20 YEARS, SCIENCE MIGHT MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO LIVE FOR
EVER. What a wonderful revelation. This
news item has published in a weekly magazine called “The Sunday Indian” (the
only news magazine on earth in 14 languages) edited and published by Prof. Arindam
Chaudhuri, a world renewed management guru (teacher). He said in his editorial,
“A scientist claiming that those who live for another twenty odd years might
actually go on to live forever. The scientist, Ray Kurzweil, has been dubbed by
none other than Bill Gates as the ‘smartest futurist on earth’. So when he
speaks, you listen. As per Ray in another twenty years, science would probably
invent ways to re-programme our bodies and thereby reverse the ageing process;
and then nano-technology would let us live forever! Read more on this subject
here @(My Response to This in my other blog page)
and read an editorial by Prof. Arindam Chaudhuri Here.
What a sad finding or attempt to live forever. Yes, there is no end to the desires of man.
The life expectancy of man is up to 70 or 75 years, The
Bible too says that: " The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by
reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and
sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we
fly away. (Psalms 90: verse 10)
It is for sure that man will die one day and it is appointed
for everyone. We all know that one day
we will die. But the believers' in
Christ have a wonderful hope that after the life on this earth they will be
going to a wonderful place Jesus Christ is preparing for them. So for others, its vital to take a decision on this, and is
very important to make our lives count as long as we are living on this earth. There is no doubt that there will be problems
and difficulties on this earth but to end of all this will happen in Christ's
return, as the Bible call it as "Jesus' Second Coming"
Be Serious and think on this line- The Bible says: "He
who does the will of God abides forever" (1 John Chapter 2 verse 17). Death Is appointed to everyone, And it is Inevitable too. No scientist or intellect can re-write this truth.
So Let Us Make a Decision Today to inherit that wonderful place called
Heaven.
Let us obtain this by doing the will of God.
Let us obtain this by doing the will of God.
May Go help each one of my readers here
Have A Blessed Time Ahead.
