“Our Planet Earth We are Living in is not fully well, and its health is day by day deteriorating.”

I am sure, there is no doubt or any counter arguments to this statement. It is increasingly going in a haphazard manner.
Though a good number of people from all walks of life is aware about it and actively participating in making awareness among people about the great danger in their way of life which ultimately lands all the humanity into a great peril. But at the same time an equal number or more than that are not aware about the seriousness of their life style. They are least bothered about it and leading a different life style of their own.

Green gas emission is one of the major problem for the environmental disaster. Watch the video below to get an idea about it and also please do visit my page at Google's
knol for more information on this line.

Even the developed countries like US and others are on the top list in gas emissions but their percentage in cutting down the emissions is very low as compared to India and China. We need to think seriously to save our coming generations. We need to take an initiative to control this global phenomenon. If we continue our present life style then we all will get caught in this peril. Global warming is a serious threat to all species on this earth. The scientists have already warned that the world has just 10 years to reverse the surging greenhouse gas emissions otherwise climate change would make this planet uninhabitable. They conclude that unless mankind stabilizes greenhouse gas emissions and start reducing them, it will have little chance of keeping global warming within manageable limits. We seriously need to think and act accordingly to reduce the emissions. We must stop cutting down the trees otherwise they will damage the already perishing flora and fauna of our country. As for creating awareness, schools and colleges can play an important role. Let's pledge to plant more saplings in our surroundings and other places available.

This year’s World Environment Day is more notable that, The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) announced that India will be the global host of World Environment Day 2011 (WED) on 5 June.

In this aspect we Indians needs to play an important role in making this day as well as the coming days in relation to environment awareness a grand success.

More activities and news can be read from my Scoop it pages here.

Wish you all a Happy Environment Day 2011

Best regards.

UNEP GREEN TIPS FOR THIS YEAR 2011

• Green your daily routine! Say no to plastic bags when you shop. Use cloth bags instead.
• Conserve energy! Turn off the lights to brighten our environment.
• Use rainwater for your indoor plants – they love it, and you’ll save water at the same time.
• Choose public transport. It reduces your carbon emissions.
• Don’t keep the water running while brushing your teeth. You will save as much as 11 liters (3 gallons) every time!
• Green your office: print double-sided, turn off monitors, start an office recycling program.
• Host a World Environment Day celebration. Clean up your neighborhood, carpool with friends, have a vegan (no animal products) dinner party! And don’t forget to register your activity on the WED website!
• Jog outside and save the energy you would have used on the treadmill!
• Mobilize your friends to celebrate World Environment Day! Use Facebook, Twitter, Linkdin, Orkut, and other social web sits.  Also by SMS, text, email etc.  – it doesn’t matter how, just get the word out!
• Plant a tree this year! This is the International Year of Forests so why not celebrate by planting a tree with friends or family.

Here is a video to watch on this day.
