India celebrate 100 Years of its National Anthem Today
India's
National Anthem is composed by the Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore
and first sung at the Kolkata session of Indian National Congress in the year 1911on December 27th.
After the British rule in the year 1950 it was adopted by the Indian Constitution as its national anthem.
It should be rendered in 52 seconds.

Thou art the ruler of the minds of all people,

It echoes in the hills of the Vindhyas and Himalayas,
mingles in the music of Jamuna and Ganges and is
chanted by the waves of the Indian Ocean.
They pray for thy blessings and sing thy praise.
The saving of all people waits in thy hand,
Thou dispenser of India's destiny.

he tune of the National Anthem was not composed by RNT but by Captain Ram Singh Thakuri, of Gorkha origin, which most of the Indians are not aware.
