ഞട്ടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന വാര്‍ത്തകള്‍ കണ്ണൂരിന്റെ പ്രാന്തപ്രദേശങ്ങളില്‍ 

നിന്നും അപ്പപ്പോള്‍ ഉയരുന്നെങ്കിലും, ഇതാ അവിടെനിന്നു തന്നെ

ചിരിയുടെ മാലപ്പടക്കവുമായി ഒരു കൂട്ടം നല്ല മനസ്സുകള്‍,

ആഹ്ലാദത്തിന്റെ പൂത്തിരിയുമായി, മനസ്സിനുല്ലാസം നല്‍കുന്ന

അടുത്ത ക്ലാസ് ഹിന്ദിയുടെതാണ്

പണിക്കരു മാഷ്‌ ക്ലാസ്സിലെത്തിയതോടെ എന്തന്നില്ലാത്ത    ഒരുന്മേഷം  തോന്നി കുട്ടിക്ക് 

ഇന്നു ഹിന്ദിയുടെ ക്ലാസ്സ് പരീക്ഷ നടത്തുമെന്നാണ് മാഷു നേരത്തെ പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നത്.

ഒരാഴ്ച മുന്‍പ് പരീക്ഷയുടെ കാര്യം പറഞ്ഞ അന്ന് മുതല്‍ കുട്ടി ശ്രദ്ധ വെച്ച് പഠിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു 

ഇത്തവണയും ക്ലാസ്സില്‍ ഒന്നാമനാകണമെന്നും, ആ സ്ഥാനം നിലനിര്‍ത്തണം എന്നും ഉള്ള ആശ 

നിമിത്തം കുട്ടി കഴിഞ്ഞ രാത്രി പതിനൊന്നര വരെ ഉറക്കമൊഴിച്ചിരുന്നു പഠിച്ചു.

പതിവ് പോലെ ഇന്നും സ്കൂളിലേക്ക് പുറപ്പട്ടപ്പോള്‍ അച്ഛന്റെ പതിവ് സ്വരം കേട്ടു,

ഇത്തവണയും ഒന്നാമാനാകണം കേട്ടോ!

കുട്ടി പുഞ്ചിരിച്ചു.

Although I've been abroad three times, he has given me further insight through his writing into the thoughts of people outside America; how they live and how they feel about my own country.

Philip Verghese Ariel (called Phil by many) is a journalist and freelance writer from Secunderabad, India, and editor of a Christian monthly. P.V. started writing in his native language, Malayalam, and later stepped into English. Facing opposition from some family members to his writing aspirations, he stealthily nurtured this desire in his actions and thoughts.

Since P.V. is in India, this isn't just a personal interview but also contains some interesting information about India from his journalist perspective. So read on!
