My friend, Mark Koopmans, has come up with this wonderful idea of a blog hop.  50 States of Pray, where on Christmas Eve hopefully people from each of the states will share our prayers, hopes, dreams, disappointments and whatever else for 2013 and onto 2014, all in about 100 words. Now, that’s indeed a great challenge!

Mark Koopman’s new blog hop “50 State of Pray” is an encouraging and a timely one.  PRAYER is an essential part of a Christian believer. Yes, its a vital one in a believer's life.  I just joined in the bloghop, and here is my post for the day.
PRAYER THE NEED OF THE HOUR.

Though I am from the other side of the nation (US), Mark allowed it to the other nation bloggers too! Lo! I am here with my take.   I am from India.(IND)

As the Apostle Paul said in Philippians Let me repeat it: "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.  Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand....   Also Paul says in 1 Thessalonians:  "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing."

Yes, it’s not a one-time affair, instead it should be a continuous process in a Christian believer's  life.

But sad to say we all quite often pray for our selfish interests, but actually it should be the other way round.  We need to pray for the needs and welfare of others.  Especially if you are a real follower of Christ, you need to pray for the salvation of the unsaved ones.  This is what the Bible says too.

Though I do remember these in my personal prayers here in this post I want to emphasis the same thing: 

Here is my take:

Lord, I give all glory and honor to You for giving us yet another year to live.

I pray for my nation as well other nations and its leaders for a smooth administration.

I pray for the poor and needy especially the one who are yet to know the Lord as their Savior.

I pray for the peace among the nations, especially for the peace of Jerusalem.

And Lord I pray for all the people who come across in my life especially in online and also my offline fellow brethren.  God Bless Them All. Thank you Lord. Amen.

November is considered as the first day of the winter season in many countries.

In India November 1^st is the formation day of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala states.

Christians especially the Roman Catholics celebrate November 1^st as the All saints day. It falls on just before the day of Halloween.   Some countries celebrate this on 2^nd and 4^th of November.   In some countries it is known as “Day of the dead” and is considered or dedicated to praying for the dead.

Thanksgiving Day is celebrated on November 4^th in United States and Puerto Rica.

In Indonesia 10th November is known as National Heroes Day.  Also on this day in America they celebrate the birthday of the United States Marine Corps.

November 11^th is the Independence Day in Angola and Poland

Belgium France and United States celebrate November 11^th as the Remembrance Day.  It commemorates World War I and other wars.  In the US it is known as Veterans Day.

In India November 14^th celebrated as Children’s Day.  It is the Birth date of former Prime Minister of India Pandit  Jawaharlaal Nehru,  he is also known as Chaacha  (Elder Brother) Nehru,  Nehru was very fond of children thus this day dedicated in his name.

This day is also known and celebrated as World Diabetes Day.

It is believed that On November 19th   the Eastern World of Puerto Rico was discovered by Christopher Columbus. (November 19, 1493)

On 19^th November International Men's Day is celebrated.

Transgender Day of Remembrance is on November 20^th in the United States since 1999.

November 21^st is the National Adoption Day.

Independence Day in Lebanon celebrated on November 22^nd

Western Christians celebrates Advent during the last week of November that is November 27^th and December 3).

Independence Day in Albania is celebrated on November 28^th

St Andrews Day is celebrated in Scotland on November 30^th.  It is also celebrated as its official National Day.

Two horrifying incidents too happened on this month:

One in the United States of America and another in India. 

The most unforgettable incident in the history of America happened on 11^th November 2001.  19 Militants hijacked four airliners and carried out suicide attack.   Two of the planes were flown into the towers of the W T C in New York City a third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington D. C., and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.  Over 3000 people were killed during this attack , this includes more than 400 police officers and firefighters.

In India on 26^th November 2008, twelve co-ordinated terrorist attacks occurred at different locations in Mumbai, one of India’s largest city.  The terror attacks continued over a period of three days killing 166 people and injuring around 300.  Seven business centers were hit in india’s financial capital, including two luxury hotels were attacked

END NOTE:

When I think of November, immediately my memory goes back to my school days. Our School English Teacher Susan Mathew taught us a one line poem to remember the days in 12 months. 

It goes like this: 

"30 Days are September April June And November" 

That was really very easy to remember the days in 12 months.  :-)

Water is the most common substance on earth.  The living things on earth depends greatly on it’s for its survival.  It is estimated that 70% of earth surface is covered with water.  Yes, water is everywhere, it fills the oceans, rivers lakes and in the ground and even in the air we breathe.

The dictionary meaning says:  A transparent, odorless, tasteless liquid, a compound of hydrogen and oxygen, H 2  O, freezing at 32°F or 0°C and boiling at 212°F or 100°C, that in a more or less impure state constitutes rain, oceans, lakes, rivers, etc.: it contains 11.188 percent hydrogen and 88.812 percent oxygen, by weight.  A special form or variety of this liquid, as rain.
